Azule's has exclusive usage rights in Canada for the Ensel technology, and we are taking advantage of this license to create the most advanced network of fuel refining in Canada. Unlike conventional biodiesel processors, we will have access to a much broader array of low-cost, renewable feedstocks. This will insulate Azule from price spikes and dependencies on food grade oils.
The ENSEL process relies on a solid, acid catalyst technology that is similar to what the petroleum industry uses to refine fossil fuels. Benefuel has developed this technology over the last four years with a leading solid catalyst research institute and process engineering firm to adapt this proven, scalable technology to process organic based feedstocks into biodiesel in an economical and environmentally friendly way.
ENSEL eliminates the dependency on refined, food grade oils, eliminates the need for large quantities of water and reduces the by-products and down stream processing that is required to produce a specification grade fuel. ENSEL provides both esterification and transesterification abilities in the same reactor and at the same time, eliminating the need for upstream pre-processing and the ability to turn any feedstock, regardless of its FFA level into high quality biodiesel.
The ENSEL process is a true, continuous flow process unlike conventional technologies that operate on a continuous ‘batch' basis. This, combined with in-line automated testing will provide Azule with the most advanced and reliable quality control in the industry today and eliminate the cost of reprocessing bad “batches” of fuel; a problem that currently plagues the industry.
